Flax the Fountain of Youth?
I've been promoting flax consumption to my patients to improve skin health since I read this 2009 publication out of the British Journal of Nutrition.
- to summarize it basically states that daily flax consumption can reduce skin redness and improve skin hydration, which limits roughness and dryness. In addition, the abundance of omega-3 fats can help your skin retain moisture.
I have been increasingly mindful of my flax consumption and do think I see overall improvements in my skin tone, nothing drastic but every little bit helps right?
